Remembered Today:

Mental Hospital in Malta

Recommended Posts

Thanks to the information advice given to me by GWF members I have contacted my local Record Office and been able to find out that my Grandfather (Pte 1915 William Pendleton 10th Battalion Hampshire Regiment) was admitted into a Mental Hospital in Malta in 1917.

Does anyone have any information on this Hospital and if its still possible to access records?

Kind regards,

Jon

Jon,

Just an idea: if you go to the search page of the University of Malta http://www.um.edu.mt/search and enter Savona in the Staff Search line, the contact details (including e-mail link) for Professor Charles Savona Ventura will result.

I happen to know that he has a long-standing interest in medical history and the Royal Naval medical presence on Malta: if asked politely I expect he will either try to help you himself, or direct you to someone else who will know.
