Don't write yours off yet. The colours were different for different brigades. A red butterfly on blue certainly exists (I have one) - could the grey be faded blue?

W.

Photos attached of a 19th Division badge. It may not help an awful lot, but I have had about three of these through my hands over the years and all were slightly different. The colour of yours looks like "French grey". Any chance of posting a photo of the back? There is often a surprising amount to be learned from the backing material. Add: I'm now wondering if this is a bit of "horizon blue" and therefore WW1 French.

For what it's worth here is the 19th. Div. insignia.

Seen a number of different color schemes and am on the lookout for one for myself.

I'm resurrecting quite an old thread, but hopefully some of the posters are still active.

Attached is a photograph of a Players cigarette card from the Divisional Badges series, showing the 19th (Western) Division emblem.

I'd like to know what it said on the back, can anyone help?

Also, it is blue rather than red, is this accurate?

Lastly, can anyone tell me where on the uniform would the divisional badge be worn?
