SANDY_LEISHMAN Posted 20 February , 2012 Share Posted 20 February , 2012 This Man name was John McMaster and probably from the Lanarkshire area of Scotland, any help in identifying his Regiment would be very much appreciated...
ander11 Posted 20 February , 2012 Share Posted 20 February , 2012 Hello Sandy Could it be The Lanarkshire Yeomanry that is my guess But I sure the experts will turn up with the right answer best regards Ian
pioneecorps Posted 20 February , 2012 Share Posted 20 February , 2012 Hi. I go for the 13th Hussars, according to The A C there was a private with the same name, Army No 16590, who served with them. Regards. Gerwyn

SANDY_LEISHMAN Posted 21 February , 2012 Author Share Posted 21 February , 2012 Thanks for the input men, don't think it's either the Lanarkshire Yeomanry or the 13th Hussars looking at what I can see of the Cap Badge, But I've got a feeling it could be some sort of Yeomanry outfit, apparantly he was a coachman berfore the war. is that no how Cuddies are supposed to look Tom? ander11 Posted 21 February , 2012 Share Posted 21 February , 2012 Hi Sandy looking at the shape of the badge, it looks like Kings Colonial - King Edward Horse, another guess I agree with tom he does need a good feed !!! Cheer's Sandy Ian
Verrico2009 Posted 21 February , 2012 Share Posted 21 February , 2012 If it's yeomanry, does Lovat's Scouts fit the bill? NA MIC
pioneecorps Posted 21 February , 2012 Share Posted 21 February , 2012 Hi It could well be the Kings Eward Horse, but I could not find a John McMaster who served with them, the cap badge for the Lovat Scouts is round, going by the cap badge in the photo, which is blurred due to the light hitting it, looks more to be shaped with a crown on it . Old Owl Posted 21 February , 2012 Share Posted 21 February , 2012 Definitely has the look of the K.E.H. and I cannot think of another badge which is similar. Overall, I would go for K.E.H.
