Khaki Posted 17 February , 2012 Share Posted 17 February , 2012 Looking at Imperial German medal groupings, I see medals from all over Germany, kingdoms, principalities, duchies etc. Sometimes I see a Bavarian decoration preceding a Prussian decoration and I conclude that the recipient was probably Bavarian. I am still confused however, was, for example, a Prussian officer limited in his recommendations to the medals of Prussia? Was there a centralised registry that decided on who got what on behalf of all kingdoms etc? Just how did it all work? khaki
