John_Hartley Posted 13 February , 2012 Share Posted 13 February , 2012 Assuming that it can be evidenced that he was a serving soldier and that he died, then there will be a case to submit through CWGC. The fact that he died appears to be well documented on Lusitania websites, but I am not sure if that would be sufficient, and suspect it may not be. The evidence of him being a serving soldier will be in his service file in Ottawa (and should include evidence of his death)- his attestation papers (online) confirm he enlisted on 12 January 1915
kinnethmont Posted 22 February , 2012 Share Posted 22 February , 2012 The Attestaion record shows he resigned his commission on 19th April 1915. Not sure if that leaves him as a serving soldier or a civilian. If the latter, he would not be commemorated by CWGC
Terry Denham Posted 31 March , 2012 Share Posted 31 March , 2012 CWGC Canada has investigated this case and decided that he does not qualify as he was a civilian at death.
