Remembered Today:

A Mystery Football Team

Any ideas from the collar badges as to which Regiment this could be? It's a very faded and battered photo but my initial reaction was that the badge was a Horn of a Light Infantry Regiment? If I could just find this information out I could then do some further research into the team.

All suggestions most welcome.

Thanks

It looks a bit like the acorn and oak leaves of the Cheshire Regiment or the South Nottinghamshire Hussars and if I had to choose I would plump for the former.

That's very good. Just had a look and I think you are right.

Thank you.

Anyone disagree?

Looking at the hirstyles and the o.r.s with collar dogs, I'd go for post-war, too.

In most battalions "C" Company would comprise "9", "10", "11" and "12" platoons, so possibly 11 platoon?

Steve.
