An excellent , informative history on the Gate past and present (but especially on the Great War and the immediate post-war period, of course!). Also has some superb photos. Dave. Very informative but I do wish the author had included a street map of Ypres for the benefit of those of us with a less than encyclopaedic knowledge of the city. I really enjoyed it and found information and photographs I had never seen anywhere else. The pic of Hitler at the gate was particularly striking!
