Remembered Today:

Austro-Hungarian Army...

I'm uploading another couple of pictures from our family archive in the hope that someone can help to identify the uniforms. This time our ancestor was a member of the Austro-Hungarian army. His name was Rudolph Wiesner and he came from Karlsbad, Bohemia - what is now the Czech Republic. We think these pictures were taken a couple of years apart. Can anyone identify the uniforms worn in either or both?

The trouble with k.u.k. uniforms, especially those of the more junior people is that they are so generic. However, I would hazard a guess at Feldjägerbataillon Nr. 6 or Infanterieregiment Freiherr von Sterneck Nr. 35.

Thank you for this. Can I ask what leads you to this conclusion?

The infantry style uniform of an individual from that part of Bohemia which formed the recruiting district for FJB 5 and IR 35.
