ARMAGH Posted 30 December , 2011 Author Share Posted 30 December , 2011 Lee Rice Armagh I searched immigration records on ancestry The first passenger list is hard to read but it shows that when he sailed to New York in 1913 he was a Marine Officer. It also shows that his main residence before departure was Glasgow. He returned to Scotland from New York in July 1914. What I don't know is where he was from 1901 to 1913 and what he did from 1914 before he joined the RN . Can any one help? Many thanks Joe
sotonmate Posted 30 December , 2011 Share Posted 30 December , 2011 Joe Ordinarily there would have been MN cards showing his details, also probably a photo and on the back a list of ships served in,identified only by Official Number and dates of service. My local MN archive has these cards but only from around 1918 forward. Earlier ones were weeded and a fair few were sent to the care of the University of Newfoundland, where,if you are lucky, you might get a hit or three.
