Another poster suggested the Royal Engineers and 2 of the records found on Ancestry refer to the Royal Engineers. They both show a number 470241 and one shows Reg no 714, the other 3rd Res Btn. Can you advise further? might be Army Service Corps, with one wound stripe. If you post his name then members of the forum can help more. Surviving WW1 records are available on Ancestry.
