claremarshall24 Posted 18 November , 2011 Posted 18 November , 2011 My mother-in-law would like to apply for her father's army service records (if they exist), but doesn't know what regiment he served in. Can anyone help by identifying his uniform and cap? Many thanks

claremarshall24 Posted 18 November , 2011 Author Posted 18 November , 2011 Thanks Michelle, His name was Norman Bruce and I found a few records under that name on Ancestry. Another poster suggested the Royal Engineers and 2 of the records found on Ancestry refer to the Royal Engineers. They both show a number 470241 and one shows Reg no 714, the other 3rd Res Btn. Can you advise further? might be Army Service Corps, with one wound stripe. If you post his name then members of the forum can help more. Surviving WW1 records are available on Ancestry. Michelle
