Hi!

Can anyone help identify this uniform - the man was in the Irish Guards, Connaught Rangers,Labour Corp and Royal Fusiliers.

He appears to have Sergeant stripes???

Sorry for poor quality - it is a scan of a photocopy of the original.

Thanks!

Unfortunately there is much distortion across the area of the cap badge, but it is clear from the shape of the badge seen that it is neither Irish Guards nor Connaught Rangers. He appears to be at the latter stage of his career as he is relatively elderly in the photo. This and the shape of the badge would fit with the Labour Corps and Royal Fusiliers. His rank looks to be Colour Sergeant rather than Sergeant as I believe there is a small crown above his three stripes. If you can focus in on his cap and post a larger image it should be possible to make a positive ID of his unit, but as things stand the Labour Corps is the closest fit.

The Labour Corps badge looks closest to the shape of the badge in the photo.
