roughdiamond Posted 11 November , 2011 Share Posted 11 November , 2011 Very Simply Vince, it's the cap badge of the West Yorkshire Regt and was used from circa 1880 till 1958. Sam

FROGSMILE Posted 11 November , 2011 Share Posted 11 November , 2011 As Graham says, it is an officers cap badge in superior metals (silver and gilt ). You can read about the West Yorkshire Regiment here: http://en.wikipedia....kshire_Regiment and here: http://www.1914-1918.net/westyorks.htm
VinceB Posted 11 November , 2011 Author Share Posted 11 November , 2011 Hello all, thanks for the quick and informative answers. The person who owned them originally claimed he was a Major with this regiment, perhaps during the Great War, but I cannot find his name on any roll. His last known name was Phillip STANLAKE.
