In the past I asked on the forum if anyone had ever seen any original volumes other than 1 and 3, no-one said they had. Now on fleabay there are some of these very volumes for sale, waaaaay to expensive but it goes to show that they did exist and they do exist.

Cheers.

Tom.

Tom: The confusion may be in the way in which the parts were labelled. It was evidently published in two volumes and five parts labelled: Volume I, Part I; Volume I, Part II; Volume II, Part III; Volume II, Part IV; and Volume II, Part V. Dick Flory

Dick,

In actual fact I think that it may be you who are confused? The original version of the M de R series was published in the 1920's and consisted of 5 seperate (individually bound) volumes.

In the 1990's? the L.S.E. reprinted this series but condensed the 5 volumes into 2 volumes(which you describe)--the ones being sold on ebay are volumes of the original 5 volume set.
