Andrew P Posted 13 October , 2011 Share Posted 13 October , 2011 Well that is interesting. I submitted George Dolling to OAWG earlier this year after obtaining his death certificate. He had been working at No.8 AGH in South Terrace Fremantle when he died of illness. Glad to know he's been accepted as a war death.
Andrew P Posted 14 October , 2011 Share Posted 14 October , 2011 Just to add some more info on Dolling. He was born on August 6th 1858 in Devon England and went on to see service with the Royal Horse Guards. He later travelled to Western Australia and at the outbreak of war was living in Stirling Street Perth. He was 58 years old when he enlisted in 1916 and was found to be fit enough for service with the Australian Army Medical Corps. George was 6 feet 2 inches tall, chest measurement of 43-44 inches, weight of 16 stone, fair complexion, blue eyes and brown hair. It seems he had at least two children, a daughter was in WA (Mrs. Ethel Newberry)but his eldest son was living in Croydon England. George served with No.22 AAMC and No.8 AGH. He died at 3.40am on the 3rd November 1918 and is buried at Karrakatta Cemetery plot Anglican HA 0401
