Old Tom Posted 21 August , 2011 Share Posted 21 August , 2011 I expect many US members will be aware of a new memorial to this division. However, for others: The Times newspaper, 20 Aug 11, has a description of a memorial to be unveiled in November at Croix Rouge Farm in the valley of the Marne. It is by James Butler and is currently on view at Burlington House in London. It was commissioned by the Croix Rouge Farm Memorial Foundation, which was formed in 2005 and bought the remains of Croix Rouge Farm and some of the surrounding land. The memorial is in the form of soldier carrying the limp body of a dead soldier. Old Tom
Steven Broomfield Posted 21 August , 2011 Share Posted 21 August , 2011 Saw that in yesterday's Times Photo of memorial here http://exploringwestminster.blogspot.com/2011/05/rainbow-division-reach-royal-academy.html I must say it looks utterly superb: so nice to see real sculpted art these days.
