Wendy Macpherson Posted 13 August , 2011 Author Share Posted 13 August , 2011 Great thanks Roger. That means I can confirm his identification as Frederick John CLARK who served WWII, died march 2011 aged 91 ...and not Frederick John CLARK who served WW1, died December 1986 aged 98. I wont go into the other Frederick's in the family but lets just say they were prominent and have driven me crazy trying to sort them all out. Thanks again, Wendy

FROGSMILE Posted 13 August , 2011 Share Posted 13 August , 2011 And this is the 'utility pattern' (with no upper pocket pleats or shoulder reinforcement patches) initially issued between 1914-15.
Wendy Macpherson Posted 13 August , 2011 Author Share Posted 13 August , 2011 Done away with all those buttons which must have been a god send to the lads. The garments certainly changed to a more practical style. Thanks again for explaining to me frogsmile. Wendy
