squirrel Posted 10 August , 2011 Share Posted 10 August , 2011 The top one is a gorget patch for a General, Lt. General, Major General, Brigadier General or Commandant. The other two are IIRC Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant/Serjeant. I am sure that somebody will be able to tell you which orders of dress they were worn on. Staffsyeoman Posted 11 August , 2011 Share Posted 11 August , 2011 Just to add a bit of 'granularity' The General Officers' gorget patch was worn (in WW2) on the collar of battledress jackets; it is now worn on the collar of combat shirts and/or barrack and working dress shirts. The other two badges are indeed Warrant Officer Class 2 (Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant - RQMS) The one on the left is for the Royal Army Medical Corps. The one on the right I thought was for The Rifles, but that has some black detailing. Think it's a defunct pattern but can't recall who it is. Correct me if wrong but I have a feeling it is the Ulster Defence Regiment. The badges are worn on mess kit or No.1 Dress (Blues). Some units produce a 'miniature' version for mess kit. Staffsyeoman Posted 11 August , 2011 Share Posted 11 August , 2011 Update: the badge on the right is for the Royal Irish Regiment (so not far off with UDR!) but was also used by The Light Infantry.
