RobL Posted 8 August , 2011 Share Posted 8 August , 2011 I understand that the Small Box Respirator was introduced in the summer/late 1916 - from what I can gather, the 110th Leicestershire Brigade (comprising 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Battalions Leicestershire Regiment) were equipped with the SBR by the time they went back into action on the Somme in mid-September 1916. Can anyone confirm when they started to be introduced? I'm specifically interested as to whether the 4th Battalion Middlesex Regiment would have had them by early September 1916, but also would be interested in general as to when they were introduced, and how many etc etc Many thanks, Rob
Guest Posted 8 August , 2011 Share Posted 8 August , 2011 Hi Rob. There's an old thread HERE that might help. Not sure if it totally answers your question, but should help? Cheers Mike
