5494 Pte Charles BOND

I would appreciate any information on 5494 Private Charles BOND of the 3rd Bn, Royal Fusiliers. Died 3rd May, 1915 aged 23 years. Commemorated on the Menin Gate. Enlisted Hounslow. Originally from Buckinghamshire. I am especially interested in any details in the Battalion War Diary.

You can download the War Diary for 3 RF from the National Archives Catalogue for 3.50.

WO95/2279 runs from Dec 1914 to Oct 1915.

From his Medal Card I note that your subject first arrived in France on 7 March 1915.

The war diaries would be a good idea as they would give information to the day he died, as sotonmate said before, you can get them at the National Archives for £3.50 or so
