Griffner Posted 2 August , 2011 Share Posted 2 August , 2011 Hello all. I see from the medal card of my great-grandfather, Hugh Grant Mackenzie, that he first arrived in the 5A theatre of war on the 17th of november 1914. Now the #5 according to the NA means "Asia", but what does the "A" mean ? "Hedjaz", like the classification from after 1916 ? Or else something lost to us now ? He was at the time in the RFA, number 50954. I was wondering what his regiment would have been at the time and where he disembarked (I am guessing, India, for he served there till 1938) Great thanks in advance!
