Darfur 1916

I never considered this part of the world before in the context of this great war - however, I've come across a link to it for the officer commanding my battery of interest.

What was happening there during 1916 and any specific role for RGA?

I have a good deal of information on air ops in Darfur 1916 by the RFC - happy to answer queries. Fascinating link Terry. AJ Potts' People of the Book is a great read and hard to get hold of.

Terry a truly fascinating link that really sets out the context - thank you.

it seems like quite a small amount of artillery involved and seems very much mountain artillery from RGA, do you think it possible to unearth more detail on the artillery involved in the BWFF expedition?

This should give you an idea:
