Hi, can anyone help with the patches, if any that were worn by the four Territorial battalions posted to the 39th Division to form the 118th Infantry Brigade, these were the 1st/6th Cheshire Regiment, 1st/4th Black Watch, !st/1st Cambridgeshire and 1st/1st Hertfordshire Regiments. Would appreciate any information and help. Many thanks. Regards John

Were they 38th or 37th Div? John shows a 37th Div Tunic.

Thanks for the information John, I was not sure of the Yellow horseshoe, is it the 37th Division? The 39th Division had a white square with three blue stripes, would it be a brigade patch? Anyway thanks once again for your help. Regards John

I have just noticed that the 1st/ Herts served in both the 37th & 39th Divs. Thats most likely why that the jacket has the 37th Div. flash on.

Ahem the 'Golden' Horseshoe (not yellow if you don't mind) was the insignia of the 37th Division. :)

1/1 Herts joined 37 Div in May 1918. They brought their battalion patch with them and wore it till the end of the war.

SD jacket shown by kind retrospective permission of its owner, forum member Wainfleet!
