Tom Tulloch-Marshall Posted 17 July , 2011 Share Posted 17 July , 2011 The index entry for a Royal Army Veterinary Corps officer in WO338 includes a note “(DSO) (REVS)”. (It is definitely not RCVS). The DSO is confirmed by a London Gazette entry, but what does the (REVS) mean ? (I’m guessing possibly Remounts Veterinary Service. Unfortunately there is no open service file). Any other ideas ? Tom Tulloch-Marshall Posted 17 July , 2011 Author Share Posted 17 July , 2011 John I cant think of a connection between (REVS) and the Royal Dick in Edinburgh, - where, coincidentally, my own father gained his veterinary degree (having avoided expulsion over "the lavatory seat incident" ).
