trevor.weekes Posted 17 July , 2011 Share Posted 17 July , 2011 According to Ray Westlake's book " British Battalions of the Somme" the 7th Battalion Buffs (East Kent Regiment) moved forward from "La Pree Wood" at 7 a.m. 1/7/1916. Does anyone have an accurate location for La Pree Wood or even a bit of a trench map showing it.

trevor.weekes Posted 20 July , 2011 Author Share Posted 20 July , 2011 Thank you that really does have some detail on it. Still trying to locate for 9th October 1916 River Ancre Left and Centre sub Sections. I know it is to the NW of Thiepval Village and Wood. Do you by chance have a map to help here? It may not be shown by name but a map similar to the one you have just sent would be much appreciated. here's another version of the area with trenches of 1st July 1916 shown in good detail...
