Garron Posted 15 July , 2011 Share Posted 15 July , 2011 Hey Pals I don't quite know how I manage it but every time I go to Cardiff a bayonet follows me home, I only went down to pick up a friend from the train station who is home on leave from the Marines. This followed me home, a 1905 dated Prussian Regimentally marked 169.R.9.42, S98 n/A, Made by C.G Haenel, SUHL Sorry about the photos its very over cast and my camera likes bright sunlight, plus its over 20 inches long so awkward to photograph with a mobile phone. The blade is very very dirty with old oil ect. Gaz

Garron Posted 15 July , 2011 Author Share Posted 15 July , 2011 Didn't see a reason to mention that, it wasn't like the two I picked up last time, not really a bargain, it was marked up at £48, but got it for £40 as there is no scabbard. I did see a German S84/98 there and a Portuguese 1904 both of which I've been looking for for my collection... so much for 1 bayonet for every country. Going to need a bigger display area when I finish decorating. Gaz
Garron Posted 12 August , 2011 Author Share Posted 12 August , 2011 I think the marking work out as 169 Regiment, 5th Company, Weapon 183, is that correct? Gaz
shippingsteel Posted 13 August , 2011 Share Posted 13 August , 2011 Depends which markings you are talking about - you gave a different set of numbers in the OP.?? Cheers, S>S
