Staffsyeoman Posted 26 May , 2011 Share Posted 26 May , 2011 Well, in Picture 1 you have top-bottom: An Australian 'Rising Sun' badge - looks to be collar sized in relation to the: General Service (Royal Arms) Button Missing - can't tell. Another button? A standard officer's 'pip' or rank star A standard officer's metal 'Australia' title What looks like where another 'Rising Sun' was Another 'pip'. Horizontal: Royal Flying Corps Officers' collar badge 'A' for ANZAC - worn on the formation signs of units which had served at Gallipoli Austalia as above, A RFC In picture 2, the Australia button is their version of the General Service button. The most interesting badge is of the 196th (Western Universities) Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force http://esask.uregina.ca/entry/196th_western_universities_battalion.html I can't quite make out the shoulder title with the '2' - looks like 2 over RHODESIA, which could be 2nd Bn The Rhodesia Regiment, but they fought almost exclusively in East Africa. Could be an attached or recuperating officer o.
