Thomas Posted 6 July , 2004 Share Posted 6 July , 2004 Can anyone please give me information on U-67 which attacked the Aurania on the 6th of Febuary 1918 of the coast of Ireland. The reason I am looking for information on the U-Boat is because a friend of the family has a porthole from the Aurania which was towed but subsequently sank of the coast of Scotland. Thanks, From, Thomas McCall

Michael Lowrey Posted 31 July , 2004 Share Posted 31 July , 2004 Thomas, I have portions of the war diary (KTB) of U 67. Is there anything in particular you are interested in? Best wishes, Michael
DirtyDick Posted 31 July , 2004 Share Posted 31 July , 2004 U-67 was one of the U-66 Class U-boats ordered by Austria, but which actually joined German service after completion. Displacing 791/933 tons, they had a crew of 39 and were armed with 5 17.7" TTs and a 3.4" or 4.1" deck gun. All 5 were completed in 1915, of which 3 were lost during the War. U-67 was surrendered to the UK in 1918; it was sold in 1920 and scrapped the following year. Richard
