Stab in the Dark. OTC or Yeomanry. No medals, elderly man, Look like RAF rank markings?

Buttons look period

He is a member of the Volunteer Training Corps holding the rank of "Section Commander" (equivalent to Sgt)(I may be wrong on the rank because I recently lost my notes in a computer crash!)

Unfortunately, I am not near my copy of King and Kipling to check out the cap badge. His rifle is interesting and may be a Japanese Arisaka or a Boer Mauser with bolt handle sticking out, but someone will probably correct me!

Cheers

If Sepoy doesn't get there first, I'll have a look this evening in the book I always call "Kipling & King" (but then my wife tells me off for referring to pepper and salt rather than salt and pepper  )

Not much success, I'm afraid. The only outside option is 1692 in K&K: the Todmorden VTC, but it's a long shot. I can't honestly see any others which jump out at me.
