Remembered Today:

French Dragoon Kepi?

Well, that's my interpretation based upon....

http://www.militaryheadgear.com/periods/27-French-Third-Republic/types/709/items/4624

I believe it to be authentic, but opinions always welcomed!

It was an eBay find and looked disgusting upon arrival. I took the dog's vacuum brush attachment (only one I'm allowed to use) and went over it and voila! it came out as pictured. It was 99% covered with old dust and dirt. Some light mothing and resewing need on a couple spots. Liner intact although well worn. Only a couple of size (58-1/2) tags inside the band.

I would like to add a chinstrap and buttons, would anyone know a source? Repros are fine.

Thanks for looking!

Its actually a post WW1 (but pre-1946) standard Mle.1935 'troupe' kepi. It could be a dragoner's kepi, but is just as likely to be infantry.
