Thanks for the information Dave. I'm sure that Live Bait Squadron Society would welcome any information that you can offer.

When I finish researching I shall pass on to them what I have.

Greetings -The Live Bait Squadron Society bulletin 9 is now available.

The Chairman Henk Van Der Linden had a well deserved break after all the work centred round the 22nd September 2014 centenary events so great to hear from them again. Generating interest in the Great War at Sea in The Netherlands, Britain and Germany.

Great news ......just heard about this from the latest Live Bait Squadron Society on line bulletin (#13) in English and Dutch.

Here is a pdf link to the bulletin. Apparently the wrecks of the Hogue, Aboukir and Cressy, have been protected under Dutch law since last year.

I'm happy to have found this thread. I have just discovered a relative (3rd cousin) who was killed on the Hogue. I'm very glad these shipwrecks will be protected. The thought of these people's final resting place being raised for scrap is unconscionable.

I've just found this thread. I am one of a team researching our local memorial (Blackheath). On it is 204049 Able Seaman Alfred Robinson. I found his Service Record (ADM 188/355/204049) and some snippets aboutwhat I found described as'one of the Navy’s blackest days'.

but if anyone knows more about Robinson, we'd be grateful.

(I'm sorry - I have no idea how 'Marco said' etc appears here !)
