andrew pugh Posted 6 May , 2011 Share Posted 6 May , 2011 Good Evening All. Could anyone explain to me what a switch line or trench is please, Regards Andy
dfaulder Posted 6 May , 2011 Share Posted 6 May , 2011 My understanding is that a switch trench is a line of trench between two parallel trenches, but at an angle (like a switch between railway tracks). Thus if you lose part of your front line you can isolate it and form a new front line consisting of the un-lost bit of front line, the reserve line where the front has been lost, connected by two switch trenches. Others may have a neater explanation. David
