badgersnr Posted 5 May , 2011 Share Posted 5 May , 2011 Dear All I have a DCM to 1222 l/cpl John A McKenzie 1/6th Seaforths LG 26/09/16 I have been told that he won the DCM on the 27/07/16 but can't comfirm so far. Do any members out there have a war diary / Battn / Reg. history that covers this period and by some miracle mentions the man and his actions. Any Info would be very much appreciated. Indeed, McKenzie earned his DCM for his actions in Mametz Wood in the period 26-29 July. The war diary entry of 24 August mentions his DCM being mentioned in Divisional Orders. Drop me a PM or email and I will send it over. I am actually researching this battalion for a private tour I am taking in September - more Arras related though.
