Terry Carter Posted 23 April , 2011 Share Posted 23 April , 2011 Hi all Can anyone help with a good map showing Skyline Trench and surrounding area. It seems to be around where two maps join 57d S.E. 2 and 4. Thanks very much Terry

oxlade134 Posted 2 June , 2021 Share Posted 2 June , 2021 Alfred Blencowe 1886 from Banbury a Sergeant with the 1/4th OBLI along with his C Company were hit by a shell in Skyline Shell on 12 August 1916. The map I have of Skyline trench is from NLS overlay over OpenStreetMap shows C Coy location. Alfred was to survive three days in the trench wounded with just mess tin and rain water he was found on the 15th and died of his wounds at 3 CCs Puchvillers on the 16th.
