bullyman Posted 21 April , 2011 Share Posted 21 April , 2011 Just looking at our local War Memorial in Brighouse Library gardens and spotted a name "added" to a seperate corner on it's own. Not quite as well crafted as the original names, reasonably well done but obviously not an original. No other info or Army number, possibly died as a result of something during the war where a relative or mate thought it appropriate to add. F W Doyle (?)NES R.B.S 1922 can anyone shed any light ? cheers bullyman

keithmroberts Posted 21 April , 2011 Share Posted 21 April , 2011 If you have the time, your local newspaper archive will probably have the answer, but you might have to go through a full year to find the man. Keith

bullyman Posted 26 April , 2011 Author Share Posted 26 April , 2011 Bingo, sculptors name and date dedicated 1922. Just a shame the writing is pretty faded with the JO(nes) lettering totally illegible. Different craftsman must have carved the roll of honour as it's all pretty clear or just looked after. cheers for the replies
