ivorex Posted 12 April , 2011 Share Posted 12 April , 2011 In the 1901 census my Grandfather, John Arthur Heatley, was stationed at Leith Fort as a 20 year old RGA gunner, but I do not known what unit he was in, can anyone help please. I would like to trace his movements as in 1906 whilst still in the army he married my Grandmother in Southampton.

It list the locations of units in 1902. http://www.orbat.com...k/army1902.html Dave Thanks Dave, the link is certainly of interest, it shows units 21 and 22 at Leith and also shows units 25 and 26 at Fareham, (my Grandmother was working as a nurse in Fareham 1901) the problem is that I do not know what unit my grandfather was in, the regimental number shown previously refers to his service when he re-joined the Army in 1914. He was London born and bred and must have originally joined up there some time around 1900. John
