alex falbo Posted 3 April , 2011 Share Posted 3 April , 2011 Hello pals. I want begin collecting Great War badges and reading is always the best. So could the enthusiasts and experts point me to important works, like Peter Doyle's & Chris Foster's British Army Cap Badges of the First World War, used for identifying badges of Great War vintage? I'm looking to purchase these as a start. Regards, Alex Manchester Badge
ATNOMIS Posted 3 April , 2011 Share Posted 3 April , 2011 Alex From the pictures the brass Shoulder Titles look to have been polished and no sharp sides/edges. Reproductions can be very shiny plus the edges can be sharp. Sorry I can not comment on the Cap Badge. Might be worth looking here for the badge, Hope this helps. trenchtrotter Posted 3 April , 2011 Share Posted 3 April , 2011 S/T are not matching pair. Look at loops. The flat hexagonal one looks ok. The badge has been brooched. Some like then others dont. I like brooched badges....sweetheart. Looks ok to me but a picture not always tells the truth. TT
