Remembered Today:

Unusual badge for ID

Hi Gents,

A friend of mine found the attached badge in a field in rural Essex with a metal detector. Its of standard cap badge size and has a single slider on the back. It does not ring any bells to me, and certainly looks first world war era. Is it possible a university OTC or some such like? Any suggestions most welcome

Kind regards

Steve

I wonder if it's connected to Warwick School OTC.

"Altoria Peto" (I seek higher things) was the school motto, and a portcullis was part of their school badge.

Unfortunately, I can't find an example.

Yes IPT I also was thinking along those lines, but have to say the crown appears to be unusual as well, certainly not a standard Britisg one that I know of

It is a rather odd-looking crown. More like a plum pudding than a King's Crown - which is what I take it to be. Yours, Antony
