Sadac,

Since I'm one of the two people that does the WWI section of uboat.net this amounts to some of my to do list and open items.

MAASHAVEN x 2, THUBAN and WESTLAND -- Have cleaned up the MAASHAVEN entry, she was damaged twice. The minelaying by the small German UCI class submarine minelayers is extremely difficult to work through. Lots of minefields, often only a few miles apart. Not all of the hits are attributed in the German official history either. It's pretty maddening. You really need all the U-boat KTBs for exact minefield locations, and I only have maybe a third of these. Have seen WESTLAND credited in some sources to the UC 4 minefield of May 19, 1917 but the location is not a match. THUBAN possibly UC 1, MAASHAVEN the second time possibly UC 10.

THEMIS -- missing vessel. Missing since sailing from Newcastle-on-Tyne, 21 Dec 1916 for Amsterdam, presumed mined in the North Sea.

TWEE GEBROEDERS -- on the list to be researched. Not credited to U-boat in the German official history but listed as sunk by submarine in "Lloyd's War Losses" with a very helpful loss location of "North Sea." A similar case from 1917 turned out to be a missing vessel.

BERNISSE -- See http://www.uboat.net/wwi/ships_hit/ship.html?shipID=772

Best wishes,

Michael

Michael, thanks you very much for the info.

I suspected that they were mined, by Uboats, but needed to `know'.

Terry, thanks for reply. Michael has made the explanation.

I should have entered in my first posting that it was an enquiry re Uboat.Net postings.

Wondered if anyone has further research / info on the ships !!

Ta, to both.
