I am researching Robert Braithwaite who died 1 August 1916. I have MIC, SD and obituary from the local paper but i am trying to find out where he was for the short time he was in France. The only war diary I could find at Kew didn't cover the period he was there. From the Long Long Trail I have found the 116th only went to France in June 1916, can anyone tell me where they were between June and 1st August? Robert is buried in dantzig Alley so they were obviously in the Mametz area when he died but were they there the whole time? Can anyone help by telling me which Division the 116th were in and I might be able to work it out from there.

Thank you

Judith
