gerd.deboeck Posted 5 March , 2011 Share Posted 5 March , 2011 I'm searching for a pair of Grenade badges as worn by the NCO's of HAC & Guard regiments. These badges were worn above the chevrons (see pictures). Does somebody know a place where I could buy them (original or replica)? I've Tried Google and E-bay but no luck so far. Thanks

Andrew Upton Posted 7 March , 2011 Share Posted 7 March , 2011 For replicas try the following 2 specialised company's: ... 2. Sutlers Store - 19th Century Tailoring - Shop Five - 6 Roumelia Lane - Bournemouth - BH5 1EU - By Appointment Only - Tel: 07936 - 602 874 Or not - they went under in mid-2010 with a lot of debts and unfulfilled orders. Coincidently, there is now a near identical firm offering the same items and run by the same people... http://www.sutlers.co.uk/sutlers-stores-full-story.html
Staffsyeoman Posted 7 March , 2011 Share Posted 7 March , 2011 Current issue Guards No.2 Dress grenades would be visually compatible, but that would need a few trips around fairs and the like.
gerd.deboeck Posted 7 March , 2011 Author Share Posted 7 March , 2011 An order with the ex-Sutlers sounds a bid risky to me. It’s not the first time they went into Administration. Anyway it seems they don’t do WW1 anymore, it’s all <1900 (mostly Western) tailoring on the new website. I’ll ask TRL if they can do it for me, but first I’ll ask my HAC contact to do some pictures with a scale next to the badge, so they can get the correct dimensions. Concerning the modern Guards n°2 badges: Am I correct in thinking these are flat in stead of the embossed Great War ones? Gerd
FROGSMILE Posted 10 March , 2011 Share Posted 10 March , 2011 Concerning the modern Guards n°2 badges: Am I correct in thinking these are flat in stead of the embossed Great War ones? Gerd Yes, they are flat. I am aware that the Sutlers are reconstituted and no longer do WW1 uniforms, but added them as worth a try.

gerd.deboeck Posted 12 March , 2011 Author Share Posted 12 March , 2011 Fallen Eagle militaria have some bombers badges in. Thanks John, But I'm looking for NCO badges, not bombers or mortars qualification badges. Interesting shop though, I've added them to my Favourites.
