133.R Posted 13 February , 2011 Share Posted 13 February , 2011 Hi, was this sign worn on both sleeves ? What do you call this rank position? Regards Sven
Rockdoc Posted 13 February , 2011 Share Posted 13 February , 2011 It's a 'plain' sergeant. All artillery sergeants had the gun above their stripes. Keith

Piorun Posted 13 February , 2011 Share Posted 13 February , 2011 Is this a reconstruction uniform? Stripes are sewn on very badly. Antony

Andrew Upton Posted 13 February , 2011 Share Posted 13 February , 2011 Thank you. The gun is missing on the left sleeve. The guns were issued in symetrical pairs, and should be worn with both guns facing the same way as the wearer. So the one that is currently on the right sleeve should technically be on the left. Rockdoc Posted 13 February , 2011 Share Posted 13 February , 2011 Oddly enough, my Grandfather's tunic also has the gun facing to the rear. It was taken in early 1917, as far as I know. Keith
