Never occured to me before but are there any maps of Armentieres/Houplines area. My Great Grandfather's battalion war diary is always saying things like 'reprted to billets in Armentieres' or 'regiment bathed today at Houplines'. It occured to me I have very little idea of what the terrain around the area is like. Does anyone have any maps of the area?

Hi

If you PM me your email address I can scan & send you part of a 2nd Army Panorama dated 28/8/15 which shows a view of the terrain from the Factory Chimney at Houplines showing the British defences and dugouts from the rear, so to speak.

Regards

Martin
