Dagwood Posted 3 February , 2011 Share Posted 3 February , 2011 I would be grateful for some help identifying the uniform of the man in the image. The only clue I have is that he might be a great-uncle who served in the 43rd Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force, a unit that was known as the Cameron Highlanders of Canada, but this might be completely wrong. Blackblue Posted 3 February , 2011 Share Posted 3 February , 2011 Looks like Liverpool Scottish to me given his sporran badge. 10th Battalion, The Kings (Liverpool) Regiment. Rgds Tim

Tinhat47 Posted 3 February , 2011 Share Posted 3 February , 2011 Is it me or does the sporran badge in the photo have the horse rearing in the opposite direction?
daggers Posted 3 February , 2011 Share Posted 3 February , 2011 The sporran badge faces the same way as the cap badge. The collar badges are paired to face inwards. D
Dagwood Posted 3 February , 2011 Author Share Posted 3 February , 2011 Many thanks for the very useful information. My father's family were from the Liverpool/Seacombe/Birkenhead area so a Liverpool regiment makes sense. There are two great-uncles who might fit the bill, William Smith and Bernard (Barnie) McDonald so I'll get on their trail. My father thinks he had the horse badge when he was a kid.
