R.E TF Units

Hello Caz

2/2 East Anglian Field Company was part of 69th Division, which stayed in the UK. It was a TF unit and was later numbered 487th.

Generally speaking, any unit other than an infantry regiment which has a county or regional name in its title is a TF unit, although a number of New Army artillery brigades also adopted local titles.

To help plug a gap, according to the Dover Express (29/11/18)

600th Fortress Company RE (this was previously the Cinque Ports Royal Engineers (T))

601st Dover Fortress RE (just a single reference - no details).

I'm not sure exactly what the difference was between the units.

When were the units all renumbered, does anyone know? I believe it was 1917.

Yes as far as I am aware they were renumbered and reorganised in 1917
