HERITAGE PLUS Posted 31 January , 2011 Share Posted 31 January , 2011 Ken North Evington War Hospital The buildings were opened in 1905 as the Leicester Union Infirmary but were deployed for military use during 1915-19. The site became Leicester General Hospital. It was linked to the 5th Northern General Hospital. There is some info and a 1916 photo here: http://www.workhouses.org.uk/index.html?Leicester/Leicester.shtml Dave
