Guest Posted 10 January , 2011 Share Posted 10 January , 2011 There are 16 pages of his service record on Ancestry. There should be 3 medals. Mike
Michael Johnson Posted 10 January , 2011 Author Share Posted 10 January , 2011 Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary in his records. Loser bid 100 pounds, then raised it to 250. Winner was previous high bidder and went over him. Family connection? Each had a medal/plaque?
PBI Posted 10 January , 2011 Share Posted 10 January , 2011 More than likely a few "Shill" Bids going on here, where the original Seller has either 2 seperate E-Bay accounts or he gets a few Friends to "Bump" up the Bidding..i note from the list of bidders that there were very few Bidders involved, the next part of the scam is that the highest bidder retracts their bid or wont pay and the seller then offers it to the next highest (Genuine) Bidder for a vastly overinflated price,or as Harry says,it will suddenly re appear at a later date.Just check out the sellers profile and see what he has been selling..mainly WW1 Medals, none of them went anywhere near the price of the BWM he just sold..defo summat not right. HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 10 January , 2011 Share Posted 10 January , 2011 look out for its reappearance......give it a week if genuine purchase I expect that both bidders had other related medals or were Family collectors...
