Broad Arrow Posted 1 January , 2011 Share Posted 1 January , 2011 My great uncle, William Sergeant landed at Le Havre on 13/08/14 and was killed in action on 17/09/14. His grandson has some postcards in his possession which have no writing on them and he thinks may have come from William. I have attached one. Could it date from 1914? dycer Posted 1 January , 2011 Share Posted 1 January , 2011 BA, If you access the Forum Search Engine and look for a Thread entitled "Princess Mary Box". You will see an example of the type of Card that was sent Home, from the front ,by the ordinary soldier,in 1914. George

CGM Posted 1 January , 2011 Share Posted 1 January , 2011 I noticed one of the posts in the link I posted contains a link to photos of some embroidered cards but this doesn't work correctly. Fingers crossed This one should be better.
