johndavidswarbrick Posted 18 December , 2010 Share Posted 18 December , 2010 As far as I am aware only those soldiers who served in an active theatre of war were entitled to the 1914 /1915 Star, and Victory medals - it was possible to be eligible for the British War medal if the soldier had served abroad in a non-active theatre - eg India. With no entitlement to medals there would be no MIC. The only other possibility for an MIC that immediately comes to mind would be for a soldier who was entitled to the Territorial Efficiency Medal. However, the one thing that I have learnt in my researches is that there are always exceptions! Dave Swarbrick

Esskay Posted 19 December , 2010 Share Posted 19 December , 2010 Can confirm that the GRO Army War Deaths - other ranks 1914-1921 has this KOSB man listed only as Alexander - with no middle initial - there is no other Alexander listed - so he certainly seems likely Cheers Sue
