picked this up yesterday , somebody turned it into an umbrella stand,, i am pondering on getting it restored,think these were nicknamed flying pigs, rgds Dave

well i had discs made and welded back into place and then repainted in dark brown, i did ask for matt but for some reason they painted it gloss, rgds Dave

I think you'll do well to get the £300 you're asking for on eBay for this.

I have one, and so does a mate - with the correct shell painting on them, as per the IWM examples - and we got those out of Belgium about seven years ago for around £50 each. And both, albeit very good relics, a lot more original than your example here.

I think I preferred it as the Art Nouveau-ish item at the top.
