CharlieBris Posted 3 December , 2010 Share Posted 3 December , 2010 There is an FK 96 n.A in the Army Depot, Maryborough, Queensland which has a marking on the breech I haven't seen before (attached) - the letters "A B R" are stamped on the top of the breech and "Nr. 96" on the back of the breech. There are some indications of other markings on the right side of the gun number but these can't be seen through the many layers of paint. Any opinions on the meaning of these? CharlieBris Posted 5 December , 2010 Author Share Posted 5 December , 2010 No ideas anyone? A bit of research suggests that "ABR" was a German army abbreviation for "Abrusten" (umlaut over the "u") or "disarmed" in English. Is that a possibility?
